More About Cleanliness Drive

Dr. Shri Nanasheb Dharmadhikari Pratisthan is organising cleanliness drives across the nation since several years. These drives are organised to create awareness amongst the people about importance of cleanliness. Cleanliness is not social binding, it is rather responsibility of each and every citizen of the country. During the drives, due care, caution and safety measures are taken without any additional burden on government and semi-government organisations.

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendraji Modi has launched ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, the Clean India Mission last year. Founder president of Pratisthan, Dr. Shri Appasaheb Dharmadhikari has been nominated as Ambassador of the mission by Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Vidyasagar Rao.

The cleanliness drive held on 16th November 2014 was inaugurated at the hands of Hon’ble Government of Maharashtra, Shri Vidyasagar Rao. More than 1,35,000 volunteers cleaned 53 cities including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Dombivali, Satara, Kolhapur, Lonavala, Sangli, Alibag, Jalgaon, Ratnagiri, Pandharpur, Bhiwandi, Palghar, Dahanu, Aasangaon, Badlapur, Shahapur, Solapur, Mahad, Uran, Pen, Nashik, Panvel, Dhule, Pimpri – Chinchwad, Vasai – Virar, Ambernath, Pune, Bhyandar, Matheran, Karjat, Shriwardhan, Murbad, Kalyan, Sindhudurg, Mhaswad, Phaltan, Baramati, Wada, Jawhar, Khopoli, Roha, Guhagar, Pali, Mangaon, Chiplun, Bhusawal, Chandrapur, Kiwat, Poladpur, Khed, Surat. Around 32,000 ton of garbage was collected during the drive.

Another drive conducted on 1st Feb 2015 in various parts of country including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Karjat, Mahad, Murud, Panvel, Khed, Murbad.In the campaign 77,932 volunteers had participated to clean 4378 kiolmeters of road, 21.86 kilometers of sea-shore along with 4068222 sq. meter area. A total of 1974.8 ton dry garbage and 1542.9 ton wet garbage was collected in the drive.
